How to Take Care of Combination Hair

There are many different types of hair. There are thick types and there are fine types of hair. There are curly ones and straight-falling ones. Some hair types are more prone to the accumulation of sebum (the natural oils that our skin secretes) than others, while some hair types are just naturally dry. There are various ways of taking care of hair according to its various types.But what if your hair happens to be a combination type of hair? What if your hair is very oily near the scalp but has the tendency to be dry to the point of brittleness as the strands reach the ends? How do you take care of hair like that?Fortunately, there are a number of ways to care for the combination type of hair. With the appropriate use of the right products, you can prevent damage to your,highhair protect it, keep it healthy and even enhance its beauty. So how do you effectively care for the combination type of hair?
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
PH balanced shampoo
Light conditioner
Jojoba oil
1.Wash your hair in lukewarm water a few times a week. Using lukewarm water prevents further drying.
2.Shampoo with a gentle, pH balanced shampoo, a few times per week. This will wash away excess oil without over drying.
3.Apply a light conditioner to the ends of your combination hair. If you use conditioner on the scalp, it will become oilier.
4.Rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water.
5.Smooth Jojoba oil onto the ends of your hair, avoiding the scalp. This will keep the ends of your hair moisturized and control the scalp's production of sebum (oil).
Tips & Warnings
•Overexposure to the sun will dry your hair even more. Use a conditioner with a sunscreen to lock in the moisture.
•Change your diet to reduce the amount of sebum your scalp produces. Drink more water, eat more fruit and vegetables and reduce your alcohol intake. This will help to balance your combination hair.
•Cut down on blow drying and the use of curling irons, as these make your hair drier.
•Don't over wash your hair. This will further aggravate the situation and make your scalp oilier and the ends drier.
